This training offers hands-on instruction in the Traditional Chinese Method of placenta encapsulation, including the full steamed preparation process from start to finish. Participants will gain practical experience in safe handling, preparation, dehydration, grinding, and encapsulation techniques.
In addition to practical skills, the training provides comprehensive education on the placenta: its functions, cultural and historical uses, and its role in postpartum traditions. The course also includes guidance on establishing and managing a placenta encapsulation practice, covering essential business foundations such as ethics, client communication, safety protocols, and professional considerations.
The Mothership 4-Month Doula Apprenticeship is an immersive training and mentorship experience for aspiring and early-career doulas ready to build a confident, community-rooted practice. Running from April through August 2026, the program includes weekly live workshops, professional education, self-care sessions, and community building designed to support both personal and professional growth.
Apprentices receive hands-on mentorship and opportunities to support births as a primary, co-, or backup doula through The Mothership’s referral network, along with business resources to help launch or strengthen a sustainable doula practice. Payment plans are available.
